An Amazing Coincidence

When I was having this website designed, I looked at hundreds of photographs of jabirus, trying to find the photograph that was just perfect. The website designers agreed with me that the one I chose was the best.

When it came to approaching the owner of the photograph to request permission to use the photograph in my website, I was amazed to find that it came from the website of a Northern Territory tour company that I knew. The photograph appears on their website and was taken by Anja Toms. On 3 June 2013, my partner and I went on a tour with Top End Explorer Tours from the township of Jabiru (another coincidence!) in Kakadu National Park.

We had a wonderful day, visiting Barramundi Gorge and Jim Jim Falls. We were very lucky to be able to see Jim Jim Falls (pictured), as it had been opened only a day or two previously, after the last of the saltwater crocodiles had been removed after the Wet Season. We travelled in a very comfortable 4WD vehicle and were treated to wonderful scenery, delicious and nutritious meals and a very friendly and informative tour guide and host, Steve Toms. Visiting Jim Jim Falls, in particular, was a wonderful experience. We swam in the cold, clear green water at the bottom of the falls, after scrambling over rocks to reach it. This tour with Top End Explorer Tours (www.kakadutours.net.au) was the high point of a most enjoyable holiday in the Top End of Australia.
